Traveling to Canada often means traveling to Vancouver, Toronto or Montreal. These big cities are the most popular traveling destinations in Canada for young and old alike. Yet each city offers something quite different from the other. To help you pick the city that is right for your vacation, here are some quick Canada travel tips. Vancouver, on the West coast of Canada, offers a range of activities for the outdoorsy person from kayaking on the ocean to skiing down a mountain. Toronto, the largest metropolitan area in Canada, offers topnotch live entertainment with local and Canadian bands featured at bars and pubs. Montreal, recently named a UNESCO city of design, is known for its beautiful buildings and beautiful people.

If you decide to head to the West coast, you will find these Vancouver travel tips useful. You can go kayaking at the Indian Arm, a glacial fjord carved into a magnificent stretch of mountain. You will see wildlife including harbour seals, various bird species, and on shore you may catch a glimpse of black-tailed deer and black bears. Throw on a backpack and set off into the backcountry for a few days. The best of British Columbia’s natural beauty is away from vehicle access. Scuba divers will find that West Vancouver’s Whytecliff Park has easy beach access to calm and protected waters. Fun winter activities include snowboarding or snowshoeing the North Shore, which is accessible within 30 minutes from downtown. Take a day hike along the Sea to Sky Corridor where there is more than 100 kilometers of mountain range between Vancouver and Whistler. You’ll never get bored of the spectacular views along the way. If you’re looking for that adrenaline rush you can bungee jump off a bridge 160 feet in the air over a glacier-fed river. And round out the perfect Canadian vacation spending a sunny evening at Jericho Beach playing volleyball and barbecue with a group of friends.
