Advice on Conducting a Stadium Light Tower Rental

If you need to light up a large surface area whether it’s a construction site or a sporting event, there are a few things you should inform yourself about before attempting to rent the appropriate lighting.  These issues include figuring out how much surface area that needs to be lit, comparison pricing, and interpersonal relationships with support staff.

The first thing you need to figure out is how many stadium light towers are needed to light the area.  While most of the rental houses you ask should be able to give you an exact formula or at least a close estimate on the degree of lighting required for your job, you should have your own idea of what is required before shopping around.  For most 16 bulb, 60 foot lights, you’ll need between 4 and 6 towers to appropriately light up a football field.

One of the most important parts of conducting a stadium light tower rental is developing a solid rapport with the support staff at the rental house.  For instance, make sure that you get to know the mechanic that handles light  tower maintenance.  This relationship will pay off later in the rare instance that something on the light tower fails or requires replacement.

Lastly, you should focus on pricing comparisons.  While 60 foot light towers are somewhat rare in the rental industry, you should still search around and see what’s available on a nation-wide level.  Armed with this information, you can make an informed decision on whether the rental will give you sufficient bang-for-the-buck, but that also depends a lot on your particular application.  What this really comes down to is not renting more than you need:  Since these towers are typically expensive to rent or buy, it’s absolutely worth your time to figure out how much lighting is needed before you start shopping around!
