About Government Boat Auctions

Boat auctions

So after the lender repossesses a boat, advertises it for sale and it doesn’t sale, it is time for it to go to the auction block.  There are several sites online that help you find boat auctions.  It is essential before you buy a boat that you inspect if first.  If you don’t know a lot about boats, bring someone with you that does.  You may offer to pay someone to come with you.  In an auction situation, you will be given twenty four to forty eight hours to inspect the boat before the auction starts.  Once the bidding is going, however, what you win you must pay for, there is no backing out.  This is a great way to buy a new boat though.  Several people have been able to buy nice boats that only need a few small cosmetic fixes at 70-90% below blue book!

Government boat auctions

There’s a lot of hype on the internet about government boat auctions.  Buy a boat at a government auctions for 10% of the book value” they boast, but this is not really how it works.  The government auctions are made up of articles that have been for the most part confiscated in crime.  For this reason the majority of the articles are really not worth it.  And because of the big hype, many people frequent these auctions and stuff gets overbid.  However, there are gems to be found if you want to make a habit of going to the auctions, but you need to know your stuff and be ready with cash when you find your perfect boat.  And remember, and government boat auction has more stuff than just boats.  They have jewelry, cars, computers, etc.  You may just get lucky!  Happy bidding.

About Repossessed Boats for Sale and Repo Boats

Repossessed boats for sale

So you’ve heard that you can find great deals on repossessed items including cars, boats, RVs, and other ATV.  So where can you find repossessed boats for sale, or repossessed cars, RVs, etc?  A great place to look is your local paper or in trade magazines.  The lender is obligated by law to advertise to sell the boat before they can auction it off (similar to a foreclosed house).  If you find a boat advertised by a lender, call them and work a deal.  They just want this off their books, and often if they can they will go after the previous owner for the difference in what you pay and what they owe.  If you have good credit the lender may even finance it for you…what a deal! A great source to find more information on repo boats for sale is the following site.

Repo boats for sale

Once a boat has been repoed by the lender, they don’t want to hold onto it.  They need to get it off their books so they can lend up to ten times the amount of the loan.  This is a BIG DEAL to the lender and they need to get their books cleaned.  Sounds great right? Well yeah, but how in the world do you find these repo boats for sale?  Well, there is a little known fact that by law the lenders have to list the boats for sale before they can auction them off.  They don’t have to sell them for a great price, but they do have to list them.  Its typically easier for the lender to just send the boat to auctions, so they would rather do that.  So all you have to do is pick up your local paper, and maybe a trade magazine or two and start skimming the classifieds.  Call on any adds that are listed by lenders and start working your negotiation magic, know that in all earnestness they really just want to get rid of the boat and will do so at almost any cost.  Learn more about Repo Boats.

8 Helpful hints to buying a Used RV?

There is a really a lot to look for but some important items are as follows:

1. Is it still under factory warranty? What repairs will be covered?

2. What condition is the roof in? Is their any interior water damage?

3. How many hours does it have on the generator? (Good indicator of use)

4. How much tread is left on the tires? Some tires cost up to $300 each to replace.

5. What condition are the brakes in? Will they need to be adjusted or replaced?

6. How does the value compare with the value the bank is willing to lend on, it may be difficult to get financing if the coach is over priced.

7. What is the weight of the vehicle? (Fifth wheel/ trailer) Will you be able to tow it? F-150s and 1500s will tow up to 7500, but you really want to keep it under 5,000 lbs. Fifth wheels generally require F-250s or larger.

8. Motor homes: what is the towing capacity, can it tow another vehicle, a trailer, or a boat. (Look at used now)
